White Elephant Gift Exchange

1. Playing is optional. If you want to play, bring one wrapped gift. If you do not want to play, no gift needed and no pressure. Only players take part in the exchange.
2. Wrap your gift. Wrap it so nobody can tell what it is. Something people would actually want to fight over beats a joke gift.
3. Draw a number. Players draw a number when they arrive. That is your turn order.
4. Number 1 goes first and picks a wrapped gift from the pile and opens it for everyone to see.
5. Everyone after that has a choice: open a new wrapped gift, or steal an already-opened gift from someone else.
6. If your gift is stolen, you immediately choose again: steal a different gift or open a new one.
7. No stealing back right away. You cannot take back the gift that was just stolen from you on the same turn.
8. Frozen after three steals. Once a gift has been stolen three times, it is frozen. The person holding it after the third steal keeps it for good.
9. Last turn goes to number 1. After everyone has gone, number 1 may swap with any unfrozen gift.
10. Keep it fun. Friendly trash talk encouraged. Whatever you end up with, you take home.
